A Splash of Green

This is my entry for the Scrap Around the World challenge for February 2015.

Scrap Around the World February 2015 Mood Board

I was inspired by the colours and beach scene in the mood board.

For this 12" x 12" layout, I dug out some old papers from the Anthologie collection by We R Memory Keepers.

I did some stamping and stencilling with molding paste on the background and added a few touches of green watercolour.

Kaisercraft stamp - Arty
Tim Holtz stamp - Bitty Grunge
Memory Box stencil - Mesh

I coated the chipboard frame and corner pieces with thick gesso and sprayed them with Ethereal Emerald Moonshadow Mist by Lindy's Stamp Gang.  Once again I glued Flower Soft (lemon colour) onto the Lavender stems, spraying them with the same mist and dabbing white and yellow paint overtop.  The fish net pieces were painted dark brown and then drybrushed with green, white and lighter brown paint.

These are the Dusty Attic chipboard pieces I used:

Baroque Corners
Fish Net Panel
Lavender
Baroque Frame Set - Square

As I usually do, I layered the diecuts over darker copies (this time in dark brown cardstock) to accent the edges.
These are the dies I used:

Cheery Lynn - Pinwheel Doily
Lifestyle Crafts - Nesting Doily Circles
Spellbinders - Locking Loops
Spellbinders - Pearl Effects
My Favorite Things - Postage Stamp

I did this in a previous layout and liked the way it looked so once again I made the frame around the photo with Dusty coloured Prima Wire thread.  The Baroque Corners were then glued on top.

The shells were made with Sculpey UltraLight  polymer clay using molds.  I painted them with Folkart Metallic paint in Champagne, sprayed them with Ethereal Emerald Moonshadow mist then dry-brushed some white paint overtop.  I then randomly applied clear embossing ink with an embossing pen (Versamarker Watermark Pen), sprinkled them with Distress Embossing Powder in Antique Linen and heat set it.

Thanks so much for looking!
