Nanky Poo

My sister Nancy in 1966

I should probably start by explaining the title of this layout.  When we were children, my mother liked to give us silly nicknames that rhymed with each other. My sister Nancy was called Nanky Poo and I was Trailer Boo.

For the background I used a piece of 7 Dots Studio paper from their Cotton Candy Dreams collection.

I did some stamping on the background in grey ink.

These are the dies and punch I used:

Carnivale Border
Martha Stewart
French Scroll

As usual, I layered all the die-cut pieces over a black version, offsetting them slightly to accentuate the edges.

These are the chipboard pieces I used:

Small Flourish Set

I embossed the chipboard pieces with Walnut Stain Distress Embossing Powder but I didn't like how dark they looked so I embossed them again with a light sprinkling of Dried Marigold Distress Embossing Powder.

Thank you so much for taking a look!

  3. Hi Tracey! Love the flair of the pinwheel die. It all goes so well together, the paper, stamp, flourishes and dies. What a cute story, too it reminds me of how we'd use "baby talk" for any baby we saw! Thanks, Denise
